Jaigarh fort was built by Raja Jai Singh ll in 1726, the design and elevation are almost same as Amer Fort. The area of the fort spread over almost 3km in length and width. There is the biggest cannon on wheels spread known as Jainava.
There are decorated and carved windows, Jarokhas, galleries and rooms that will add to the fascinating decors. The architecture is influenced by the Persian-style door and carved columns.
There are museums and armoury, the view of the hill of eagle and Amer fort is seen from there, that view is framed in many movies such as Kangana raunat seen in Manikarnika and the scene of sudh desi romance.
The material used in the fort construction is red stone, which makes the structure so strong that it is still strongly standing. The armoury chamber has a wide range of weapons and swords and showcases many things that were used during the war in olden times.
There are many types of niwas made for the guest and family; the highest point is ‘Subhat Nivas’ and ‘Diya bruj.’The whole fort is designed by taking wind direction in mind.
Jaigarh fort is 11kms from the city of Jaipur; the best way to reach there is by private cab or a bus, but the bus takes a stand at the many intermediate stations, which you do not like sometimes. So the best is to book a Vedanshi cab rental service for the Jaipur sightseeing tour.
Every day, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Jaigarh Fortress is open for visitors.
In 1734, Sawai Jai Singh II, the Maharaja of Jaipur at the time, constructed Nahargarh Fort. He built the fort so the royal family's hunting expeditions might escape there. Originally known as Sudarshangarh, the fort was eventually given the name Nahargarh.
